Sue Redmon (Broussard) Albritton, died May 2, 2013

Sue Redmon Albritton, 79, of Calhoun, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2013. Services will be held on May 4, 2013 at Feazel Chapel First Baptist Church of West Monroe at 11:00AM with Trey Albritton officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until Service Time on Saturday. Interment will follow at Halsey Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Sue was born on March 8, 1934 in Smithville, Tennessee and passed away surrounded by her family at Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Monroe, LA on May 2, 2013. Sue is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Walls Broussard of Smithville, TN and sister, Florence Sanders of Pensacola, FL.

She is survived by her loving husband, Clyde Albritton, Jr; sisters, Virginia Maxwell and husband Larry of Lafayette, LA and Betty James and husband Butch of Sun City Center, FL; sons, Trey Albritton and fiancée Donna Manning of Monroe, LA; Steve Albritton and wife Debbie of Sugar Land, TX; daughters, Neppie Trahan and husband Freddy of Lafayette, LA; Jessica Penn and husband Chuck of Keithville, LA; Tracey Murphy and husband Ross of Dallas, TX; Debby Wilson and husband Larry of Smithville, TX; 16 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren.

Sue was a member of Bayou Oaks Baptist Church in Monroe, LA and a member of the Daughters of the Nile (organization that cares for the needs of the Children at Shriners Hospital). She was an avid golfer and enjoyed winning but showed patience and compassion to less experienced players. When Sue was unable to play golf she turned her hobbies to gardening and taking care of her dog, June Bug. She was able to remain at home because of the great care that she received from her loving husband, Clyde. She was affectionately known as “Grams” to her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, and was always glad to see family and friends. She never met a stranger and always kept her sense of humor.

Pallbearers will be Matt Penn, Jeffrey Penn, Jonathan Penn, Tyler Albritton, Ross Murphy, and Steve Albritton.
