GIMLEN, Kathleen Francis (Age 75) – of Harrison, Idaho passed away November 21, 2005 at her home.
She was born July 1, 1930 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA to M.D. “Doc” and Ellen (SHEA) HANNAN. After graduating from North Central High School in 1948 she went to work for Pacific Telephone in revenue accounting. She stayed in that field all her working life. She worked in accounting and as an office manager for several Spokane firms including Farman, Rothrock & Parrott Inc., Rena-Ware Dist., and Cater United Van Lines.
Kathleen married Lawrence W. COLEMAN in 1949 and they had five children. They divorced in 1963. In 1966 she married the love of her life, Isaac “Ray” GIMLEN. After retiring in 1980 they spent the fall and winter months traveling the United States, hitting all 48 states many times, and enjoying traveling on “Blue Line Roads”. They also took trips to Europe, Hawaii, and several to Alaska. They spent every summer on Coeur d’Alene Lake at Arrow Point. In 1995 they sold the family farm in Spokane and moved permanently to the south end of Coeur d’Alene Lake where Ray built her dream home. Kathleen truly enjoyed her home year around reading her books and watching the birds and boats. She also enjoyed her twice-yearly trips to Las Vegas.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Ray at the home; sons, Michael COLEMAN and wife, Fran of Boulder City, NV, Patrick COLEMAN and Lori JONES of Spokane, WA, Timothy COLEMAN of Spokane, WA; daughter, Kathleen Ann NIELSON of Medical Lake, WA; stepson, Guy A. GIMLEN of Alameda, CA; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Carol HANNAN of Ogden, UT, Michael and Dorothy HANNAN of Superstition Mt., AZ, and Richard and Nancy HANNAN of Nine Mile Falls, WA; and the joy of her life, her beautiful grandchildren, Colleen COLEMAN of Henderson, NV, Aaron COLEMAN of Dallas, TX, Angelica NIELSON and Abagail NIELSON of Medical Lake, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Daniel J. COLEMAN; a niece, Janet HANNAN; and a son-in-law, Steve NIELSON.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 noon Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at Montgomery and Cedar in Spokane conducted by Father Jo Hien.
