Miriam Isabell Knapp

Miriam Isabell Knapp of Port Hadlock died in Kah Tai Care Center, Port Townsend, from a stroke at age 84.
She was born in Fergus Falls, Minn., to Carl and Carrie (Swenson) Johnson.
Following an earlier marriage to and divorce from James Charles Hansen Sr., she married John F. Knapp in Minneapolis on Jan. 16, 1948.
She moved to Alaska in 1947, where she lived in Anchorage, Homer and Kasilof, then moved to Port Hadlock 15 years ago.
Mrs. Knapp was a kindergarten teacher and 4-H leader, as well as a lifelong homemaker.
She enjoyed flowers and gardening and was a member of the Lutheran church and Rebekas.
Mrs. Knapp is survived by her husband in Port Hadlock and son James Charles Hansen in Wichita, Kan.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Services: Private internment will be in Anchorage, Alaska. Kosec Funeral Home, Port Townsend, is in charge of arrangements.
